It begins with a wide double track until you head north into the hills on the recently built singletrack trails. These are some of the nicest trails we have encountered in the Northwest. We offer 5 Mile, Half-Marathon (13.1 Mile), Marathon (26.2 Mile) and 50K trail run options . The aid stations are fully stocked with water, Nuun, Clif product, PBJ sandwiches, organic fruit, cookies, crackers and pretzels. As always, at the finish there will be a full variety of post race foods awaiting you. WA

This will be a low key run along the Sammamish River between Bothell and Redmond Wa. (Just north of Seattle). This is a fun run, a run with friends, which is not certified but is measured, and will count for maniac and fanatic totals. The course is a paved trail, along the Sammamish River, shared with bicycles and other runners, etc. It is mostly flat. The half marathon is an out and back, the marathon is a double out and back and the 50k has an additional 2.4 mile out and back. This run is designed for the runner who is fairly self sufficient, with minimal support on the trail. Runners should run with a water bottle, and there will be self service aid stations along the way where you can refill with water or Gatorade. There are no cups on the course. There will be food at the finish, which is also the half way mark for the marathon. There are public rest rooms along the trail. The First Call Running Club is dedicated to promoting good health through distance running. Our events are low key, designed for those who are fairly self sufficient. There are water/Gatorade stops along the way, where you can refill your bottle (no cups on the course). There is food at the start/finish area provided by the club and by potluck donation. There is no cost run. Donations are appreciated, and these keep our runs going. Donations are used to pay for event costs, ie permits, insurance, food, supplies, improvements for future races etc. Left over funds are donated to charity. We are a chartered group of the RRCA. Annual Dues (donation) of $25 is requested for club membership. WA

Marathoners will start near the renown Alpine Lakes Wilderness Area. Runners will run a loop through the Icicle Canyon the Bavarian Village of Leavenworth through wooded riverfront trails. Mixed surface of asphalt and dirt trails. Surrounded by impressive mountains, you'll likely see salmon spawning in the Wenatchee River and Icicle Creek. The half marathon events welcomes both runners and walkers. The marathon is limited to runners who will complete the course within the six hour time limit, due to course restrictions. The half marathon course is open for four hours. Leavenworth is Washington’s “Bavarian Village” located 2 hours east of the Puget Sound bordering the Wenatchee National Forest and Alpine Lakes Wilderness Area. Oktoberfest is Leavenworth’s biggest festival of the year with 3 weeks of music, parades, food (and of course, beverages) and activities for children and adults. A great race will only be part of your unique experience on race weekend! If it gets taken find a hose or McDonalds or Arco, etc. and get some. The Courses Starting on the edge of the of the Pasayten Wilderness in the Okanogan National Forest at an altitude of 3100ft the marathon course loses 1000ft in the first 10 miles as it follows the wild Chewuch River to the "western" town of Winthrop. In all, the marathon loses 1450ft and gains just 150ft for a net loss of 1300ft. The half marathon, which begins at the half way point in the marathon course, loses 520 feet and only gains 130 for a net loss of almost 400ft. WA

The last few miles have views of Seattle and Puget Sound towards the Olympics. The finish is in front of Spud's Fish and Chips at Alki. If you don't want to run the entire 26.2 miles, then get together some friends and make it a relay with any number of participants. Everyone is encouraged to participate by running as far as they like. In past years we have had runners running as little as 2.5 miles and as much as 22.5 miles. There are no formal rules or divisions, the run is just for fun and to stay in shape. About 25% of the participants are on relays. They help cheer the others along and pass out water, gatorade and GU (?) which is provided free. Many of the parks have restrooms along the way. Support is limited, so those with special nutritional and fluid needs are encouraged to make their own arrangements. This is a low key run amongst friends with no entry fee. A commemorative T-shirt (short sleeve for 2015) - high quality wicking material - will be available for $15 with advance notice. There are no awards, but most of the runners treat themselves to a lunch at Spuds at the finish. Very limited return transportation will be provided to those that request it in advance. Runners are encouraged to meet at the finish at 6:45 AM to car pool back to the start. Runners can also choose to meet at the start and hope for a ride back. WA

GENERAL RACE INFORMATION Course Description - This point-to-point marathon course is exceptionally scenic as it offers spectacular views of the Yakima River Canyon. It starts on Canyon Road .2 mile south of the Berry Road intersection in Ellensburg, Washington. After two loops, it proceeds directly south to the canyon. There are two major hills and many curves as the course follows the Yakima River downstream on the asphalt surfaced highway.
