May 24, 2014 Timp Trail Marathon May 24, 2014 Timp Trail Marathon May 24, 2014 Timp Trail Marathon & Half Marathon Orem, UT USA May 24, 2014 Name: Shaun Christian Address: T3TRIATHLON 870 W CENTER OREM UT 84057 Phone Number: 801-678-4032 Fax Number: 801-426-8825 Email: shaun@t3triathlon.com Official Race Website: http://t3triathlon.com/race/timp-trail-marathon-half Marathon Course This is a very challenging marathon course. If you run a 3:30 marathon expect to finish this race between 5-6 hours. The current course record is 3:40:32 set by Seth Wold in 2012. There is 5,883 feet of elevation gain on Marathon course. The course is made up of 99.9% mountain trail and fire break roads. The only asphalt that your trail shoes will touch is a few crossing as you traverse northbound at the lower elevations. There are sections of accent and decent that will be technical but extremely scenic. As in the past you may experience snow, rain, mud, potential stream crossings but without a doubt rocks. Although the distance is that of a traditional marathon, it is anything but traditional. There will not be porta-johns, mile markers, spectators, or volunteers at every turn showing you which way to go. You should treat this race course like an ultra-distance race. The course will be marked with orange and blue flagging. Continuous orange flagging will indicate the correct direction. A combination of orange and blue flagging will indicate an upcoming turn. The blue flagging will appear on the same side of the trail as the turn will occur. The course will be marked well but you must pay attention to the flagging. UT

September 6, 2014 Little Grand Canyon & Half September 6, 2014 Little Grand Canyon & Half September 6, 2014 Marathon Details Little Grand Canyon & Half Marathon, 10K September 6, 2014 Price, UT USA times will be posted after the race. Event Details This is the only Marathon and Half Marathon where you get to run through the Little Grand Canyon in Eastern Utah and see some of the most pristine scenery in the world. This area is also known as the San Rafael Swell or BuckHorn Wash. These towering Red Rocks are not only Majestic but they tell the Geological timetable as you run through the Jurassic, Triassic and Cretaceous Eras. There are actual dinosaur footprints on the side of the road and you run in front of one of the largest Native American Pictograph Panels in the State(The BuckHorn Panel). Due to this exclusive location and the multiple Paleontological and Archeological vistas, this is the only run of its kind. This is a limited run and is not for runners that enjoy running in large crowds and in great cities, this is for the scenic-runner that enjoys the tranquility and beauty of running in nature. Marathon View Course Map The course begins at 5,650ft and only has about 235ft of climb in the first four miles. The remaining course is fairly flat with a slight decline until you hit the mouth of BuckHorn Wash (about 16 miles from the start). The remaining course descends about 547ft over the next 10 miles. This is a great decline because it doesnt put unnecessary pain on your joints by being too steep. Half Marathon View Course Map This is primarily a flat / downhill half-marathon with only gently rolling hills. The beginning of the run starts at an elevation of 5656ft. and descends to an elevation of 5100ft. so it will not put unnecessary strain on joints. There is only one access road through the canyon, but it is fairly compacted. 10K View Course Map This is going to be one of the faster and most scenic 10Ks around. Runners will mostly descend through the most scenic part of the canyon. This route is going to be along the last 6.2 miles of the marathon and half marathon course. UT
