Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon & Half-Marathon, 5 Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon & Half-Marathon, 5 Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon & Half-Marathon, 5P Marathon Relay, 5K Memorial Walk Oklahoma City, OK USA A Official Race Website: http://www.okcmarathon.com As a tribute to the victims, family members and survivors of the bombing, Oklahoma City hosts the Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon., we run to give the Memorial. We run to involve the community, the nation, and perhaps the world in the continuing process of coping with the tragedy of the past. We run as a step toward a better future. The idea to organize a marathon as a memorial to the bombing victims and survivors and as a fundraiser for the Oklahoma City National Memorial came to us early one morning during a training run. Since then, each year has brought growth and challenge. We credit God with getting us this far, and we trust Him to take us on. For the marathon to truly honor the memories of the lost and serve to inspire the living to greater accomplishment, no effort is spared in making this marathon the premiere running event in the nation. Whether this will be your first marathon, or one of many, whether you are a beginner or an elite athlete, this will be the best marathon you have ever experienced. Oklahoma City IS a Marathon City. The marathon is a wonderful analogy of the character of our people, the history of our trials and difficulties, and the way in which we have overcome and persevered. The Memorial Marathon provides an appropriate way for us to honor the victims and survivors, while at the same time celebrating the miracle of life. It is our hope that you will join people from all over Oklahoma, this nation and even the world in giving this gift to the victims’ families, the survivorsil 28, 2013. NV

A2A Arbuckles to Ardmore Race for Mercy & Half Mar A2A Arbuckles to Ardmore Race for Mercy & Half Mar A2A Arbuckles to Ardmore Race for Mercy & Half Marathon, 5K Ardmore, OK USA March 3, 2013 Official Race Website: http://www.a2amarathon.co The uniquely beautiful Marathon point-to-point course begins at the historic Turner Falls Overlook in the Arbuckle Mountains. Rolling hills wind downhill, intercepting the Half Marathon course beginning at the Murray Co./Carter Co. line. The courses continue downhill together through the scenic countryside of the foothills until the Marathoners turn east for an out-and-back leg through the award-winning Bar Nothin’ Horse Ranch near Springer. Marathoners return to Hwy 77 to re-join the Half Marathoners for the straight stretch into Ardmore, enjoying an overall elevation drop of 538 ft. over the first 15.5 miles of the course. A shallow elevation climb begins at mile 16 and continues until runners turn west at mile 20 for a final out-and-back to the lake inside beautiful Ardmore Regional Park. Save a little energy during the downhill early on 'cause the gently rolling terrain in the park will feel like mountains at that point in the race. However, your efforts will be richly rewarded as you finish to the cheers of fans at the 50 yard-line inside nearby Noble Stadium. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- OK
Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon and Half Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon and Half Date : April 28,2013 The Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon is not about running, it is about life, honoring the memory of life lost through tragedy, celebrating the gift of life given equally to each person, and reaching forward into the future to life yet to be lived. This is the spirit in which the Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon was conceptualized by Thomas Hill and Chet Collier, two Oklahoma businessmen who, while on a morning run, created the outline for this inspiring event. Since that morning run, the Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon has been run ten times. A group of 24 volunteer chairmen lead a volunteer corps of more than 6,000 to carry out the full weekend of events. From its inaugural race in 2001 with just shy of 5,000 participants, the 2011 event hosted nearly 25,000 runners and walkers from 49 states and six foreign countries. The mission of the Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon is to celebrate life, reach for the future, honor the memories of those who were killed and unite the world in hope. This is not just another marathon. It is a run to remember…and a race to show that we can each make a difference and change the world. The Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum is the sole beneficiary of Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon event proceeds. The Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon has contributed more than $3 million dollars to the Memorial since its inception. OK
