September 7, 2014 Valley Chamber of Commerce September 7, 2014 Valley Chamber of Commerce September 7, 2014 Valley Chamber of Commerce Salmon Marathon & Half Marathon Salmon, ID USA CourseThe marathon and half-marathon is limited to 300 runners. The race is a scenic point-to-point course that starts in Tendoy, Idaho. Tendoy, for you history buffs, is the birthplace of Sacajawea, the Agaidika Shoshone woman, who with her infant child accompanied Lewis and Clark on their historic journey to the Pacific and back. Approximately 21 miles of the course is dirt or gravel and dirt surface. The last five miles are on pavement. There are three short stretches along the dirt road that are paved. There are two short hills on the course, the first hill after mile 7 and the second hill after the half marathon point. Runners are rewarded with nice downhills after both climbs. The remainder of the course is gently rolling, but generally downhill. This is a fast course. Your legs won't feel it, but your time will reflect it. Because of the high proportion of dirt and gravel surfacing on this course, it is HIGHLY recommended that wheelchair racers not participate. In the interest of runner safety, running buggies and pets are not allowed on the course. ID

The races include a marathon, half-marathon, relay, 10K and 5K. The Teton Dam Marathon & Races takes place every year around the anniversary of the breaking of the Teton Dam. On June 5, 1976, the collapse of the Teton River Dam unleashed a savage flood which caused $500 million in damage, took eleven lives, and made thousands homeless in Wilford, Sugar City, Rexburg, Salem, Hibbard, Firth, Blackfoot, and Roberts. This tragedy was turned into triumph by the victims' own faith and courage and by an outpouring of aid by many volunteers from Idaho and nearby states. For this reason over a thousand runners flood the streets to take on their own personal challenge of running a race. ONLY 1,300 RUNNERS WILL BE ABLE TO PARTICIPATE IN THE 2013 TETON DAM MARATHON & RACES. BE SURE TO REGISTER NOW. Bear Lake Idaho Marathon Bear Lake Idaho Marathon Marathon Details Bear Lake Idaho Marathon Fish Haven, ID USA June 7, 2013 Marathon Idaho Friday, June 7, 2013This marathon was originally designed for the 50 State Club marathon runners that requested to run in two different States, during the same weekend since Bear Lake sits on the State line between Utah and Idaho. The road around the lake is just over 50 miles. Marathoner runners that participate in both marathons will be able to boast about the rare accomplishment of running around the entire Bear Lake in one weekend. Since this time, the Idaho Marathon has continued to grow and now even Half Marathon runners have requested that we open up the race for them as well so they can run in two States. We would like to report that we have now just opened the Idaho Half Marathon that will run the last half of the marathon course. The Marathon will start at 6:00 a.m. at Garden City Park, 350 South Bear Lake Blvd The Half Marathon will be bused from this same location at 7:00a.m. The race will start shortly after arriving at the starting line, 13.1 miles from the park. Packet pickup/last minute registration will happen at 5:15 am on Friday (just before the race) for the marathon runners and 6:30 a.m for the half marathon runners. The races will finish at the Idaho State Park on the East side of the Lake. Both parks are along the main road that wraps around Bear Lake. There will be aid stations every 3 miles with water, Gatorade, GU Energy Gel, and fruit at each aid station. There will also be Portable Restrooms at the start and each aid station. Finishing medals and running shirts will be provided to all runners. Official times will be posted on the web site shortly after the race. There will be busing back to the finish line at the end of the race, but quests are welcome to pick up runners at the finish line. UT

Pocatello Marathon,1/2,10K,5K,1.5mile Pocatello Marathon,1/2,10K,5K,1.5mile The course was challenging and the support at the aid stations was almost overwhelming. The fan support was a big boost as we navigated the terrain. The awards for both races were without a doubt some of the best that I've seen in the thirty some years that I have been road running. Thanks to the sponsors and the local organizations for a job well done. It is without a doubt a difficult thing to do in organizing an event such as a marathon. ID
