August 18, 2018 Ruck And Run 5KAugust 18, 2018 Ruck And Run 5K Ruck And Run 5K Route: The starting line is at the dead end on Meadowview Lane. This is also the finish line. Each participant must stay on the designated route. The route is 5.56K. There are 5 stations along our route. All participants (Ruckers and Runners) must complete the prescribed exercise at each station (e.g. push-ups, body weight squats, etc.) before continuing. The stations are designed to be completed without the necessity of ruck removal. Participants may choose to remove their ruck to complete the station. However, the challenge is to keep the ruck on, as this adds weight to the exercise. Safety first. Before the participant continues, they must get their bib stamped by a station worker. At each station, there will be water and/or snacks. MO

5 Tips For A Sucessful Marathon from NJ Shore Ma5 Tips For A Sucessful Marathon from NJ Shore Ma October 30, 2014 5 Tips For A Successful Marathon There is a definite learning curve in the marathon. Tips and tricks are passed on from coach to runner, from veterans to first-timers. A successful race is the result of managing many small tasks. By planning ahead, you can make your marathon experience a whole lot smoother..

_ Practice everything! In your long runs leading up to the marathon, you should try the shoes, apparel, breakfast, drink and/or gel that you think you will use on race day. Its better to discover if something doesnt work on a long run than during the marathon. Check the race website in advance to find out what fluids will be available on course. You can choose whether to supplement with the fuel on course or carry a different product of your choice..

Experienced runners should have a goal time, but have some flexibility in that goal for dealing with weather and other factors on race-day. I like having a primary goal and a stretch goal, but its also good to have a slower time in mind that may youll be OK with if weather forces a slower pace. Just finishing 26.2 is a huge accomplishment, even if you have to adjust your goal time. I encourage new runners to focus on finishing their first marathon, rather than on hitting a specific time. There should be lots of entertainment to enjoy along the course, and running a solid, fun first marathon will set you up well for a more specific goal at your next race! Soak up the energy of the race, but start conservatively so you can have fun during the second half. The last 6 miles feel as hard as the first 20, so you should plan to save plenty of energy for the final miles..

Many runners get caught up in the excitement of the marathon and start out too fast. The early miles always feel easy, but any time banked is often given back later. Its always easier to make up time if you start a little slow than to recover from starting too fast. Dont get caught up in someone elses pace. Even among runners with the same goal time, you may find that one runner is stronger running uphill, while another is stronger on downhill or flat segments. This can cause an awkward feeling of surges throughout the race, which is more difficult than maintaining the pace that is right for YOU. If you want to run with a pace group, allow yourself the option of pulling slightly ahead or even dropping a little behind during segments where the pace doesnt feel quite right. Remember that pacers run a steady pace for 26.2, which might not mean a steady effort over hills..

If youre expecting cool weather at the start, add some layers that you can pull off mid-race if you warm up or if the fabric rubs you wrong. You can cut the toes off of some tube socks to make arm-warmers, and if needed, wear some throw-away gloves and a hat that you can toss as you warm up. Hydration Drinking too much plain water before and during the race can be a serious problem. It can throw off your electrolyte balance, causing a risk of hyponatremia (low sodium concentration). Runners are at a greater risk of hyponatremia if they take water at all aid stations and dont consume adequate electrolytes to maintain sodium balance. To prevent hyponatremia, you should consume electrolytes with some of your water in the days before the marathon and during the race. You can mix in an electrolyte drink or eat whole foods containing electrolytes. Leading up to race-day, good electrolyte sources include bananas & avocado for potassium, dairy products (if you tolerate them) and green leafy vegetables for calcium, and chicken broth or other salty foods for sodium. On race morning youll want to stick with lighter foods for breakfast, mixing carbs & protein. My favorite pre-race meal is a banana with mixed nuts. Eaten 2-3 hours before the race, it provides sodium and potassium, along with carbs, and some protein & healthy fat..

A marathon is a lot to manage. Make a plan, but allow some flexibility if things dont go exactly right. We look forward to seeing you at the finish line!.

Ottawa Fall ColoursOttawa Fall Colours The Ottawa Fall Colours Marathon and Ottawa Fall Colours Half Marathon courses are certified by Athletics Canada, and Run Canada and are considered official distance events. The courses were measured by Dave Yaeger, and certified by Bernie Conway, National Course Certifier, IAAF Grade A Measurer, and USATF/RRTC Final Signatory. This certification along with the ChampionChip Timing provided by Sportstats, means that the Ottawa Fall Colours Marathon may be used as a "Qualifier for the Boston Marathon", and the New York City Marathon and Half Marathon. Qualification is automatic if the Qualifying standards are met during this race. The courses are out and back for the half marathon, and a double out and back course for the marathon. We have something for everyone though. The setting for the runs, is the Cumberland Heritage Village Museum in Ottawa. It is a turn-of-the-century village with all the trappings we need to make this Thanksgiving extravaganza one with a Canadian heritage flavour. It's right here in Ottawa, but in a country setting among farms and rural estate homes. The elements of the classic big city marathons will be there, with an intimate humble, country Thanksgiving flavour. Canadian Marathon, Relays & RunsCanadian Marathon, Relays & Runs One of the most unique running events in Canada, the Canadian Evening Marathon, Marathon Relay, and Half Marathon, starts in the early evening (5:30 p.m. for the Marathon, and 7:00 p.m. for the Half Marathon). There is a time limit on the Marathon Run. Participants must be able to finish within a 5 hour time limit (i.e. must finish by 10:30 p.m. which is also the maximum time for the Iron 226 participants). Runners can choose to run solo, or get a team together and run the Marathon Relay. You will be out there in the cool of the evening and will be able to share your run with the Iron 226 participants who are also doing the Marathon after a day of swimming (4Km) and cycling (180Km). We think it will be an evening like no other. The Canadian Evening Marathon and Canadian Evening Half Marathon have received official certification by Athletics Canada and Run Canada and are considered official distance events. The course was measured by Dave Yaeger, and certified by Bernie Conway, National Course Certifier, IAAF Grade A Measurer, and USATF/RRTC Final Signatory. This certification along with our ChampionChip Timing means that the Canadian Evening Marathon may be used as a "Qualifier for the Boston Marathon". Qualification is automatic if the Boston Qualifying standard is met during this race. The Canadian Morning 10Km & 5Km Fun Runs are a big part of the"Canadian" weekend. They are being held early in the day though - at 8:00 a.m. - so you will have to get up early to be part of the fun. The runs are held in conjunction with the Canadian Iron 226 Triathlon and Duathlon. This positioning allows recreational runners to join in the fun and chaos of the Canadian. It will be a blast! You will really enjoy the course, which runs along the Rideau River on the recreational path - a beautiful and scenic course. August 15, 2015 Old Farts Running Club Fallsburg August 15, 2015 Old Farts Running Club Fallsburg August 15, 2015 Old Farts Running Club Fallsburg Marathon and Half Marathon & Half Marathon, 5K Lowell, MI USA

AName: Dan Droski Address: 2010 Woodrun Lowell, Michigan, 49331 Phone Number: 616-260-2669 Email: Official Race Website: 2013 Memories 26.2 MILES...Come and Leave your cares at the door... You have better be in shape if your going to tackle this one...this race is not for beginners. But if your up for a challenge and we do mean UP!!!!, if your looking for a GREAT workout, or are just One Tough Old Fart...then this OLD FARTS MARATHON will not disappoint YOU!

This years course will be two 13.1 mile loops. It will include all the same fun as last year... but we are adding a new twist called the JOURNEY THRU OZ so as you go up Dorothy's Ridge(yes you are leaving KANSAS!) you will get to experience what we call WITCH HILL although you may call it some other choice words when you get done with it... and the Old Fart Race would not be the same if you didn't get to run the stretch of trail that we will call The LARRY...because "it's just plain Scary" so Lace them up tight cause you will be in for a bumpy ride through the mud and then after you get through the mud then the real "Nose Bleed...aka check with your doctor before attempting... Type of Hils" begin. We name the hills so you won't have any problem recalling them after the race. First you will hit the's half the FRED so if you dislike the ED, then you'll dread the FRED.

Then you come to the FRED...a hill so big that you will feel your heart pounding out of your chest by the time you reach the top! Then it's on to "Little Chuck"...named after Chuck Norris...a hill that he would be proud of.

Then after Little Chuck you limp through the nice section of the course...wooded trails that flow then you have definitely earned your race t-shirt and know that the OLD FARTS COURSE is no joke. So when the finisher medal says ONE TOUGH MARATHON...we mean it! REGISTRATION LINK HERE::
